Rare bronze plaque by Paul-Edouard Dreux (1855-1947) representing an Airedale terrier dog, signed below the portrait of the dog + annotated on the back "Wyn Captain- Airedale terrier- 1st prize- CAC- Chalon 1928- A Mes Perrin et Mambre." dimensions: 4.5 x 6.5cm. Very good condition, very slight shock at one of the corners but tiny and invisible on the front side. Medal guaranteed authentic. Paul-Édouard Dreux, born in Paris on October 5, 1855 where he died on June 8, 1947, is a French sculptor and engraver of medals. Paul-Édouard Dreux was born on October 5, 1855 in the former 4th arrondissement of Paris from the marriage of Charles Édouard Dreux, jeweler, and Victorine Sautereau. Animal sculptor, particularly of dogs, member of the Salon des artistes français, he received an honorable mention there in 1924 and also exhibited at the Salon d'hiver. His works are kept at the Manufacture nationale de Sèvres where he worked, and at the Musée des arts décoratifs
