This gorge styled carriage clock was made by Drocourt for E. White in c.1870, at a time when Edward White had a well-deserved reputation for making and retailing clocks of the premier league. It retains its original numbered leather carrying case.The 8-day movement with full grande sonnerie strike, strike and strike/silent. The clock is stamped for Drocourt and is numbered He exhibited at the 1862 Exhibition and had a four page advertisement in the catalogue. Edward White is recorded having premises at Pall Mall London from 1861 to 1890. He exhibited at the 1862 Exhibition and had a four page advertisement in the catalogue.
