His first oil paintings date from 1942, inspired by the tradition of the then very numerous lagoon painters.
From 1943 to 1945, the events of war took him away from painting, which he took up again with enthusiasm in 1945.
Settling in Venice, where he was forced to earn his living by practicing the most varied trades, he would nevertheless gradually refine his technique and his taste for drawing and various artistic expressions, drawing on the direct experience of contact with the artists of the Serenissima. .
In 1948, after his military discharge, he returned to the lagoon city and enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts, following the courses of the Free School of Nude. In 1951 he was invited to Burano, thus beginning his participation in Venetian artistic events. From these he managed to obtain important recognition from critics, who rewarded him several times. The painting represents a view from above with houses and roofs, the painting is material, typical of the early 1960s, signed on the back with the year 1964.
