"Bust Marie Antoinette Plaster Patina Terra Cotta - 19th Century"
Beautiful plaster bust with terracotta patina, 19th century, after Félix Lecomte (1737-1817), French sculptor, notably winner of the Prix de Rome in 1758, and academician. The artist depicts the last queen of France, Marie-Antoinette, her head slightly turned to the right. Her hairstyle made of a braid and curls is completed by a composition of flowers, leaves and berries. The young woman is dressed in lace, hidden under a coat lined with ermine, embroidered with fleurs-de-lys, symbol of royalty, and tied with a cord. She wears, around her neck, a medallion representing her husband King Louis XVI. The details are a little erased by the patina of time, but this leaves her all her charm. Some slight losses and cracks
