"Alpine Collar Making Bell, Wrought And Chiseled Iron, Aubrac Region, 19th Century Popular Art"
Curious and rare mountain pasture collar in wrought and chiseled iron from the Aubrac region, made at the beginning of the 19th century. This beautiful object of popular art is composed of rings of different sizes which, when colliding under the effect of the movements of the animal, acted as bells, thus allowing the herdsman or shepherd to easily locate his animals. Although reserved for a very particular use and intended for a rustic way of life, this collar has been very meticulously decorated with small naive decorations all over its ensemble, testimony to the importance given to farm animals at that time. This collar is in a very good state of conservation, a few small pits are to be noted, without seriousness. Shipping costs Metropolitan France 10 euros, other destinations contact us.
