"Lady's Secretary, Small Marquetry Drop-leaf Desk, Occasional And Miscellaneous Use Furniture"
Rare and atypical Louis XV style lady's secretaire in marquetry. It rests on four arched legs joined together by a crotch shelf surrounded by an openwork brass gallery, the ends of the legs are decorated with four pretty finely chiseled bronze sabots. This piece of furniture opens on the front with a flap with a so-called "frizzle" decoration in a butterfly wing, delimited by a frame of light wood marquetry fillets. It reveals two small drawers topped with a large niche. It is topped with a tray also decorated with a beautiful butterfly wing frieze and surrounded by an openwork brass gallery. This tray has the particularity of opening like a chest by means of two rear hinges. Very beautiful manufacture from the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th century.
