"Saint Bruno In Prayer After Jean Jouvenet, Oil On Canvas, 18th Century"

One of the replicas of St Bruno in prayer by Jean Jouvenet is in the Museum of Lyon (a canvas of 73 x 60cm). Our replica, contemporary with the latter, measures 87 x 69 cm. The original by Jouvenet is perhaps in Sweden. Oil on canvas on red ochre coating, formerly relined. The relining will have to be redone, there is an old restoration on the wall at the level of the Saint's head. The frame is a carved wooden copy from the 20th century.
