Circa 1790 France Fine man's suit dating from the French Revolution period. Green yellow changing silk taffeta shaded with pink (green warp and pink weft). Fitted tailcoat with false buttonhole facings embroidered with cannetilles, sequins and tinsel mika drawing cords with flowered pompoms. Fitted cut with long pigeon basques, elbow sleeves with buttoned cuffs, high collar raised and folded down to a point at the nape of the neck. Complete with its matching buttons and three buttonholes in front. Large side pockets with flaps lined with taffeta. Original and unaltered lining in cream taffeta (which is not common). Clean and undamaged taffeta, apart from rare micro stains and a few missing sequins. Very good condition of color and conservation for this period. Collector's item. Dimensions: Equivalent to size for a young man aged 14-16, slim. Mannequin on a French 36. Height 111 cm. Shoulders 32 cm, sleeves 60 cm, chest 93 cm, waist 82 cm, hips 108 cm, collar height 10 cm.
