Rare Restoration Period Night Light Basin

This large night light consists of a red glass basin, entirely decorated with golden patterns, some of which are worked with agate tips (arabesque, scrolls, etc.). It is supported by three twisted stems attached to a mascaron decorated with acorn and oak leaf patterns. The attachment of each stem to the basin is a very delicate and rich assembly representing oak leaves and acorns emerging from a conch shell.
The whole is exceptional and rare due to the exuberance of its decoration and rare due to its particular fragility. A socket or support inside the basin held a candle or a small cup containing oil in which a wick floated.

Conditions :
Practically perfect, the glass is intact as well as the gold patterns. The gilding is fresh, the suspension must never have been taken down, besides it was black with dirt.
