Alfred Jean FORETAY (1861-1944) is a Swiss sculptor and painter born in Morges in 1861 and died in Geneva in 1944. He studied in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux-arts under Alexandre Falguière and exhibited at the Salon des artistes français in Paris. Towards the end of his life, he created works for the city of Geneva, where he died.

Very good condition, small holes in the head of the boy and the pelican, probably a remnant of casting.
