"Ngil Mask, Fang From Gabon."
Very beautiful Fang mask from Gabon, approximately 62cm high, an object carved in soft wood perfectly in keeping with the Ngil masks of this ethnic group. The sculpture of the mask by the finesse of its size is quite remarkable making it an object of great lightness and perfect style. The mask is perfectly wearable with perfect visibility through the eye holes. The placement on the head is done instantly without compromise, as the absolute guarantee of a possible use in the past. It should be noted very beautiful old indigenous repairs. This old object comes from colonials who resided in Morocco after long careers in Central Africa but unfortunately without more precision on the dating and the precise provenance of this object that we can reasonably estimate before the middle of the twentieth century. It is finally important to specify that the mask does not give off any suspicious smell of fumigation as is often the case in this type of object. Very rare, really to seize.
