This Meissen figurative sculpture depicts a man dressed in colorful 18th-century attire, featuring a beautiful blue livery embroidered with gold buttons. He is standing against the background of a tree stump, holding a bouquet of flowers in his hands. The figurine is based on a sketch by Michel Victor Acier (1736-1799), with the first example created in 1776. The man's clothing and the base of the figurine are finished in gilt. On the underside, there is a blue crossed sword mark, a red "40," and the inscriptions "C73" (model number) and "127."
The figurine dates from the mid-19th century, possibly earlier, and is a 1st choice piece. It is finely modeled and painted with underglaze paint, with partial gilding. Condition: Unfortunately, the rose in the right hand is missing. However, everything else is in perfect condition.
