"Louis XV Period Triangular Games Table, Marquetry, For Games Of Hombre, Sorting And Three Of A Kind."
Very rare and very elegant 18th century games table in solid cherry wood and marquetry. Its triangular top is entirely marquetry and decorated in its center with a large six-pointed star. It opens by folding down on the central rear leg. This sliding rear leg reveals a drawer which also allows the storage of pawns, tokens and cards. When opened, the top reveals a green felt mat in perfect condition, lined with a fleece. Thanks to its triangular top, this table can be placed in the corner of a room, serving as a corner and thus taking up less space. It can also be used as a console. Once open, this table takes the shape of a square. The board is surrounded by a wooden gallery to prevent dice, pawns, etc. from falling. Our board is equipped with four angular and circular appendages, designed to accommodate candlesticks or candelabras to illuminate each player, as games are most often played in the evening in living rooms.
