Pewter PITCHER, with shoulder, flared foot, quarter-round goblet and 5 ray palmette thumb.
Control hallmark: crowned C / S.FLO(RENTIN): 17(01).
Incompletely affixed hallmark of Edme HUNOT received master before 1700: crowned hammer / (E).H.
Height: 17.5 cm.
SAINT-FLORENTIN (Burgundy), First third of the 18th century

Very rare Burgundian provenance.
In Saint-Florentin the only control hallmark listed to date is for the vintage 1701; the regulations of the royal edict of 1691 were not scrupulously respected there, it therefore does not allow to precisely date the objects which bear it.
Let us recall in passing that these pewter pitchers were the wine measures of the Ancien Régime.
