The "Townley Vase" is a famous Roman marble vase from the 2nd century AD discovered at the end of the 18th century south of Rome. Ovoid in shape, it is sculpted on its belly with a long frieze in bas-relief depicting a procession dedicated to the cult of Dionysus; It was purchased by the British Museum in 1805 where it is still exhibited today. This beautiful bronze edition from the second half of the 19th century is presented on their original columns in turned marble in "sea foam green" color.
