The Virgin is depicted praying with her hands clasped, her face crowned and haloed, her foot resting on a crescent moon.
The sculptor took advantage of the color of the marble to treat the Virgin's body in shades of red ochre and her face and halo in beige.
The Virgin is sculpted and stands out in high relief from the background which has an oval border.
The top of the cameo has been pierced and can be worn like a medallion.
Spanish or Portuguese work from the end of the 17th, 18th century.
