"Antique Louis XVI Striped Jacquard Silk Curtain Fabric With Floral Medallions"
Very beautiful panel of old jacquard silk with a striped "old gold" colored background and embroidered with floral medallions in slight relief held by garlands of flowers inspired by the 18th century Louis XVI style. Between the medallions, the background is dotted with a half of small flowers on stems. The panel is partially bordered with a large fringed braid of matching trimmings nicely worked. Very beautiful "old gold" color with changing reflections depending on the light. On each side, the selvedge finishes the fabric. A beautiful material, a tight and flexible weave at the same time, a very beautiful broaching work, a high quality fabric! If you do not wish to keep this panel for its original use, its substantial footage will allow you to upholster seats - armchairs or lovely little bedroom chairs - or to make beautiful cushions and many other things according to your needs or desires. 19th century period, Napoleon III. Dimensions: height 305 cm x 125 cm width. A 30 cm bottom flap at one end can be unstitched to obtain additional fabric height. This fabric is old and has been used.
