Antoine Bouvard is a French painter (1875-1955) who was named Eloi Noël Beraud, he painted and signed under the pseudonyms of Bouvard and Marc Aldine. Born in Saint Jean-de-Bournay in Isère, Antoine Bouvard trained as an architect at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the Constant-Dufeus workshop. During a trip to Venice at the beginning of the 20th century, he fell under the spell of this city, its many canals and its light, which attracted so many artists. The incredible rendering of his paintings and views of Venice gave him great recognition and wide notoriety, they
also remind us of the works of Felix Ziem, an artist he met on several occasions. Bouvard exhibited in numerous galleries in France and Europe.
