Beautiful painting, oil on canvas of good size from 1896 representing a maritime landscape St Jean Cap Ferrat signed Cyrille Besset. Cyrille Besset (1861-1892), French landscape painter, he settled in Nice around 1890. He represents views of the Mediterranean coast from the Italian border to Marseille and Martigues as well as the hinterland of the Nicois country. He followed the courses in Paris of Alfred Roll, great landscape painter of the 19th century. Cyrille Besset exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1900 where he won a medal. His works have been sold 20 times on Art Privé, listed in the dictionary of recognized artists the Bnezit. His painting the white road at the Orsay museum. Besset is a talented painter.
