"Montol Statue, Nigeria."
Old female Montol statuette from Nigeria in hardwood, approximately 62 cm high. The arms are classically brought back as an offering on the front of the belly, scarifications on the face. Montol statues were used for divination and healing rites. This imposing statue is of a rare quality of execution by the artist, giving a great presence to this very aesthetic work. It is an object that can be placed in the middle of the 20th century.
