Great Venus Bambara Mali

Large Bambara statue representing the feminine archetype, arched kidneys, heavy and sagging breasts (sign of a mother woman), large stable and sure feet. It reminds me of the people from the Paleolithic. Obviously very old, 19th or before, dry eroded patina, hard and heavy wood with grooves, to our knowledge, heavy wear on the back (buttocks, skull and feet) indicating that it must have spent a long time lying on its back, part of an arm is missing, height 90 and 93 cm including the base. Note under the base a transport label from the Chenue company in Paris in the 18th, a company specializing in the transport of works of art from museums or large art galleries.
