Old snuffbox in chiseled pomponne. Model dating from the second half of the 18th century. Lid decorated with an equestrian battle scene, allegory of France facing the quadruple alliance of 1718. The rim is decorated with horsemen and military trophies, also chiseled with two captives, modeled on the work of Martin VAN DER BOGAERT known as Martin DESJARDINS (1637-1694). 6.5cm x 5cm x 4.2cm high. Beautiful state of conservation with wear to the patina.
