Six different colors are present.
Emblem of the city of Nancy, the thistle inspired in 1908 a first service made for the International Exhibition of the East of France in Nancy at the height of the Art Nouveau movement. It was presented there accompanied by the motto of Nancy "Qui s'y frotte s'y pique" as a sign of Ludovician resistance under the German occupation.
In 1913, the name was anglicized to become Thistle (English translation of "Chardon") and has since shone on the greatest tables around the world.
An iconic model of Saint-Louis, Thistle has more than 110 years of creation and is still part of the collections of the Cristallerie Saint-Louis.
Fine Venetian ribs, bevels and a frieze made from 24-carat gold enhance the THISTLE decoration.
