This large silver bowl and matching plate, crafted in Iran during the 19th century, exemplify exquisite Persian artistry. The upper margin of the bowl features a cast silver rim decorated with wave and knop motifs. The external side is densely hand-engraved with images of Persian soldiers, adorned with an ornamental stripe above and below. The interior of the bowl is polished to a shiny finish.
The bowl comes with a large, round flat saucer, also made of pure silver. The outer rim of the tray mirrors the same wave and knop pattern as the bowl. The upper front of the tray features a central round engraved scene depicting servants fanning their ruler, surrounded by decorative bands and medallions of leafy tendrils. The smooth underside of the saucer bears two hallmarks.
