Charlotte Perriand Cansado Bench In Mahogany, Circa 1962

The "Cansado" bench is an emblematic piece of furniture designed by Charlotte Perriand for the company MIFERMA in the 1960s. It was specially designed to furnish the flats of the company's executives in the mining town of Cansado in Mauritania.

The design of the bench, sleek and minimalist, has proven to be timeless and adaptable to various interior styles. The structure and base of the bench are made of black lacquered steel, while the seat is made of 13 mahogany slats. The  mattress and cushions have been renovated with a Nobilis cloth, Mont Blanc Grey.

The original edition of the "Cansado" bench was produced by the Steph Simon publishing house in the years 1959-1967. This piece of furniture has become a design reference and is a testimony to the visionary work of Charlotte Perriand.
