"Rare Ceramic Shell Emile Gallé"
Important ceramic by Emile Gallé made between 1863 and 1890, it bears the signature of Emile Gallé, founding father of the Nancy school. Its unique shell shape decorated with quayside scenes showing docs unloading boats, evoking the drawings of Victor Hugo whose verses often inspired Emile Gallé. A very rare piece, the only known example to date.... No restoration, perfect state of conservation.... Length: 25 cm. Depth: 15 cm. Height: 16 cm.
