Rare miniature coffee pot in solid silver resting on three beautiful scrolled feet with leafy attachments. Body of the jug engraved with a monogram, and lid presenting for fretel a seed resting on its leafy terrace. Side handle in carved ivory with cracks from use. Piece well hallmarked (body and lid) with the Charge Hallmarks (large Crowned A) and Discharge (Monkey's head) for PARIS 1774-80, the Jurande Hallmarks for PARIS 1779 (Crowned Q) and Hallmarks of the Master Goldsmith Jacques FAMECHON (crowned fleur-de-lys, the two grains, his initials "JF" and a bell bourdon) received in 1770. This exceptional and rare miniature coffee pot (particularly sought after by enlightened amateurs) is in very good condition and well hallmarked, beautiful patina and micro-scratches from use.
