Alphonse Debain was a particularly innovative and efficient Goldsmith at the end of the 19th century, which allowed him to be noticed at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1889 for his many creations, for which he received a Gold Medal. At the 1900 Exhibition, as a member of the Jury he was therefore out of the competition, thought it did not prevent him from exhibiting and achieving great success, and many of his workers were rewarded.
