Rare colorized engraving of the Cordouan lighthouse. Gironde estuary, Gironde, France.18th century, dated 1705. It includes a front view of the tower, a plan and a longitudinal section. Original proof made around 1705 in Paris at Nicolas de Fer in the Isle du Palais on the quai de l'orloge at the Sphère Royale with privilege of the King, 1705. A. Coquart Sculp. Later frame (19th century) in Pichpin with wide baguette and double dark fillets. Traces of foxing mainly on the Marie Louise. Very good condition.
