Tabriz rug with a large rosette, floral and cut, accompanied in length by pendants in the shape of large floral halberds.
This piece measures 200 cm wide by 250 cm long excluding fringes. ## In very good used condition, wool of the finest quality for the velvet, fringes and edges in perfect condition.
This magnificent Persian rug follows the criteria of ancient Persian decorations, knotted with great finesse and superb quality of kork wool.
Around 1980, we can hardly imagine the immense work to knot such a marvel.
The quality of these pieces is not to be demonstrated, the work is fine, precise and durable over time.
The materials used are of the highest quality: the fine and soft kork wool, taken at the neck and under the belly of the lambs (first shearing) makes up the velvet knotted on a fine cotton for the weft.
This carpet is clean, the wool is knotted admirably and finely tight as these carpets always are. It reveals to us nuances full of contrasts, very many colors, including many blues, red, chamois, black and ivory, cream ....
A medallion with an ivory field, four ivory spandrels decorated with very elaborate and large stylized flowers.
It is surrounded by a complex border grouping together branches and large stylized flowers.
Traditional wool carpet, comfortable and of great passage.
The nuances underline this learned floral design in the great tradition of Persian art. Persian art that is also found in Mughal art, inspired by the miniatures of the Tabriz school, then capital of the Persian Empire.
## For information: Tabriz (Azerbaijani: Təbriz/ تبریز, formerly Tauris), is the capital of the province of East Azerbaijan, in the northwest of Iran (Iranian Azerbaijan).
Tabriz is located on the course of the Talkheh River (also called Aji-Chāi), near Lake Urmia, near the borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia. It is the gateway to Persia from north to west, Tabriz carpets are extremely important in the quality of Persian carpets and have a very great international reputation.
Tabriz are among the most prized carpets in the world, their work is always very fine and durable over time.
This carpet has been professionally and ecologically cleaned.
