Pyrogenic Match Holder Box Bust Of Voltaire In Silver Metal

Both pyrogenic and match holder, this small bust of Voltaire on a pedestal is an atypical object. The base opens by means of a hinge to reveal a space that can accommodate matches. The base decorated with a serpentine acts as a scraper. No visible hallmark, silver-plated metal (tested). Late 19th - early 20th century. Dimensions: Height: 8 cm Scraper diameter: 2.8 cm Good condition. The hinge works well. No damage to report except for a small, not too visible bump on the back on one shoulder (see photos).
