René LE FORESTIER was born in Pontivy in 1903. He died in Concarneau in 1972. While the painter gave us many paintings of his native Brittany, he also painted the picturesque places of Montmartre that he was particularly fond of. René Le Forestier developed a particular sensitivity to variations in light and color, capturing the essence of rural and maritime scenes with great finesse.
