"Daniel Clesse (1932-2016), Blue Harmony, Oil On Panel Signed"
Daniel Clesse is a French artist living in Paris, France. Daniel grew up with a love of drawing from childhood. He had studied in Paris at the Beaux-Arts and the colors he used in his paintings reflect the light of Provence. He worked mainly in oil on canvas, but also in oil on wood. They dedicated their entire life to the arts and creating new paintings as often as they could. Daniel worked nights at the French Post Office so that he could paint daily. The Clesse couple lived and worked in Paris until 1985 when they decided to settle down in the small village of Aniane in the South of France. Once settled, they both continued to work to develop their art in their new home. Many galleries over the years tried to convince him to sell his work, but Daniel never allowed it. He had a few small exhibitions where he sold his paintings himself. His painting changed throughout the periods of his life. In the 1950s and 1960s most of his works were semi-figurative. Then in the 1970s and up to 1980 he turned to abstraction, with the majority of his art being semi-abstract. Later he fully embraced his love for abstract art and until 2000 he focused on the abstract style. Very nice oil on panel from the 70s/80s.
