HENOCQUE Narcisse, Born in 1879, died in 1952. 19th- 20th centuries. French. Painter of portraits, landscapes, seascapes, flowers and fruits. Neo-impressionist. He was a student of Zacharie at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Rouen. Then, with school friends, he formed, around Joseph Delattre, the Rouen Neo-Impressionist School, among which Dumont and Narcisse Guilbert are often cited. Following Delattre's example, he lingered on the banks of the Seine, the surrounding meadows or the seaside. An office worker, he took advantage of his leisure time to work on the motif. The moving surfaces of the sky and water were his favorite themes. He reproduced them on canvas in pretty colored harmonies.
