"Bronze And Painted Wood Fireplace Trim, Stamped Vincenti & Cie – Part 2, 19th Century"
This set consists of a clock stamped Vincenti & Cie in a violin shape surrounded by chiseled gilt bronze rods decorated with shells, scrolls, flowers and acanthus leaves. When the clock is deadened, two acanthus leaves intertwine. The circular dial in white enamel is graduated with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes. This clock is accompanied by two candelabra with two scrolled light arms supporting delicately crafted bobeches and chalices. Each body, also in painted wood, imitation tortoiseshell, is potbellied with sharp corners. These candelabra rest on identical bases in gilt bronze with scrolled feet. This set will arouse interest for the contrast of its warm tones Vincenti & Cie: Large-volume clock factory founded in 1828 by Jean Vincenti who later joined forces with the manufacturer Albert Roux. Vincenti & Co will win many awards including the silver medal in 1855. ******** Period: 2nd Part 19th century Excellent condition Complete movement, supplied with key.
