The two stirrups, although very similar, are slightly different, particularly in the patterns chosen for the chiseling of the decoration, and one is slightly larger than the other.
This is therefore what is called a "false pair". This reassortment of slightly different stirrups was frequent: When a stirrup strap broke and the object was lost, it was chosen to replace the missing one with another of size and decoration as similar as possible.
The two stirrups are made of iron, worked in the forge. The side faces are richly decorated with geometric patterns that recall in particular the style of decoration found in particular on Syrian objects.
The sole is pierced with geometric patterns arranged in a circle. It seems that this type of piercing is more specifically Moroccan.
These objects are very decorative, at a very reasonable price, they will easily fit into an oriental decor, or in a collection linked to equestrian art.
