"George III Sterling Baluster Caster / Pepper Pot With Beaded Border, Peter & Ann Bateman, 1791"
A George III silver caster by Peter & Ann Bateman (over-struck by George Gray), featuring an ogee baluster shape with a turned finial. It has a hatch engraved and dot-pierced domed cover with beaded borders, standing on a conical foot. The caster also showcases fine gadrooning and rope-twist details on the borders, with typical holes in double diamond engraved bands. The long, thin, and elegant finial is also baluster-shaped.

Made by Peter & Ann Bateman and assayed for London, 1791
