Napoleon III Period Medallion Shaped Pivoting Fireplace Screen, Oval Fire Screen, 19th Century

Beautiful swivel fireplace screen from the Napoleon III period. It is medallion-shaped and composed of an oval frame in blackened wood resting on a tripod base, the whole being topped with a pretty central spinning top. Our screen is decorated with a magnificent embroidered tapestry representing a gallant scene. It is in very good condition and has retained beautiful colors. The back is decorated with a plain fabric with a dark vertical line, a mark caused by the central iron rod allowing the screen to rotate. This wear is entirely normal given the system used at that time and the age of the object. The whole is entirely original, the structure is solid and very stable for this beautiful and rare model.
