Object description :

"Louis XV Period Chest Of Drawers, Painted Wood"
Louis XV period chest of drawers, in painted wood. Charming model of Louis XV period chest of drawers of nice proportions, still inspired by the Louis XIV style and the Regency, the curved front in plan opens with 4 drawers on 3 rows, each drawer front is hollowed out with asymmetrical cartouches and molded medallions, the low front crosspiece is symmetrically fretted, the corner uprights are rounded and carved with grooves, the sides of the piece of furniture are straight with paneling work. Built in oak, it is painted in very soft tones of green rechampis, the chest of drawers is topped with a molded wooden top with a small corbin beak, painted in imitation of marble, very pretty patina of the whole. Original bronze ornamentation (with the exception of the lock entry of the low drawer), with pretty falling handles still in the spirit of the Regency with their natural patinas. This piece of furniture dating from the second half of the 18th century is in a very beautiful state of conservation with a very pretty patina, all the original wood, and period locks.
