Japan, 1930s/1950s, very beautiful bronze inkwell with a golden patina composed of a cubic container intended to receive the ink and a long barrel for storing the brush(es). The lid is decorated with a character carrying two bags at the end of a stick placed on one shoulder and a dragon. The barrel has a relief decoration of insects and plants and its end represents an elephant's head whose trunk keeps everything at a useful height.
Length 27.5 cm. The scale indicator in the last photograph is a small model of a lighter from a well-known brand. Good condition.
