Rare and heavy Taste-Vin Orléans in solid silver from the Louis XV period, plain model and engraved on the edge "Jacque Bucheron De Baugency 1770". The ribbed handle is made up of a tab taken from a piece and folded into a ring. Charge Hallmark (crowned letter R) and Discharge Hallmark of ORLEANS 1768-75, Jurande Hallmark for ORLEANS 1764 (date letter E Crowned) and Hallmark of Master Goldsmith Martin LUMIERE (Hallmark with the initials "ML" on a heart of lilies and under a crowned torch) received in 1749. Half a page (p. 223 ref 49) is devoted in the reference book "Les Orfèvres d'Orleans" by Editions Somogy to a Martin Lumiere Taste Vin of an identical model but weighing only 97 grams unlike ours presented here of 151.8 grams which is a heavyweight in its category!
