A very nicely executed Oil painting on canvas. Signed in the lower right by Giuseppe Palanti. This really is a superb example of the work of Giuseppe Palanti. depicting a beautiful young lady in a lovely pink dress with a white collar in a landscape setting. The painting has a wonderful provenance having been in the same family since new and was a painting of Maria Gnocchi aged 9 years in about 1939. Fully Signed and Presented In very fine condition. Giuseppe Palanti (30 July 1881 – 23 April 1946) was an Italian painter, illustrator, and urban planner, best known for his portraits, notably of Mussolini and Pius XI. He had a long collaboration with Teatro alla Scala in Milan, creating costume, set design and advertising material for multiple opera productions. He was also a major contributor towards the development of the seaside resort Milano Marittima.
