Carrara marble bust of a man signed Augustin Peene 1853 - 1913. Sculptor of statues, groups, busts, designer. He was a student of Augustin Dumont and Jean-Marie Bonnassieux. He exhibited in Paris, regularly since 1880 at the Salon des Artistes Français, he received an honorable mention in 1885, 1889 a bronze medal for the universal exhibition. He executed the central part of an altar at Saint Ferdinand-des Terres in Paris, the bust of the composer Kreutzer for the Opera, as well as six statues of the facade of the town hall of Dunkirk, and some works in museums.
