Louis XVI Style Inlaid And Bronze Ornamented Commode, Marble Top And Marquetry

Magnificent Louis XVI style chest of drawers in mahogany and burled wood, opening on the front with three drawers on three rows. The two bottom drawers are superimposed, without a crosspiece and decorated with a rectangular bronze frame with a heart-shaped motif. The top drawer is entirely covered with a large bronze frieze with interlaced patterns. The sides are decorated with a square frame with the same pattern as the front and also topped with the same interlaced bronze frieze. The front uprights have tapered columns, our chest of drawers rests on four spinning top feet, tapered and fluted, ringed at the top and finished with bronze sabots; Bronze rings allowing the drawers to open. Louis XVI knot lock entries. A beautiful veined white Carrara marble tops this splendid piece of furniture. Note, a small stain on it (see last photo).
