"Anthropomorphic Statuette - Kulango Culture, Ivory Coast And Ghana - Circa 1900"
ANTHROPOMORPHE STATUTE with bent legs, her feet forming a trapezoidal base, characteristic of the culture. His hands rest on his knees, which are themselves folded over his bulging belly with its prominent umbilicus. His stylised face is punctuated by a goatee, two small lateral protuberances referring to his ears or short plaits and a horizontal eyebrow arch in relief.
It probably represents an ancestor.
