Ger van Vliet (Amsterdam 1880 - 1972) lived and worked in Amsterdam as a painter, draftsman and watercolourist. He was a student at the Rijksnormaalschool (1900-1902) and then at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. He was trained by August Allebé, August, Jan Derk Huibers and Wilhelmus Molkenboer, among others. He painted and drew landscapes and cityscapes and taught, among others, Bertha Müller. Gerard was a member of 'Arti en Amicitiae' and 'St. Lucas' in Amsterdam, by the Rembrandt Society and the Society of Dutch Artists
