Beautiful painting painted on canvas representing a cottage in a landscape animated by two characters, signed lower right: "A. de Fontenay". Daligé de Fontenay Alexis Léonard, born April 29, 1813 in Paris, died in 1892 in Paris. Landscape painter, he was a student of Watelet and Hersent at the School of Fine Arts which he entered in 1831. This well-made canvas is representative of the spontaneity of the excellent painter Daligé de Fontenay who painted landscapes from nature without retouching. French School, original frame gilded with gold leaf. Keyed chassis. Very good condition. L/H with frame: 98 X 70 cm. L/H without frame: 68 X 40 cm.
