Joseph Alphonse Chauleur was a student of Pharaon de Winter, professor at the Lille School of Fine Arts, he obtained an honorable mention in 1926 at the Salon of French Artists of which he was a member and presented a portrait and a landscape there in 1929. In 1939, he was the Master of Reine Steenbakkers.
