Parisian Mortar By Nicolas Chapelle, Circa 1660, For Lord Of Roncourt

Here is superb bronze mortar with a dark patina, almost in new condition, superb bronze casting, inscription ou collar Jean Baptiste de Roncourt, (1635-†1684) - He married Christine Joly (1635-†1661), they still rest in cemetery of this hamlet, between Contrexéville and Vittel.

The use of large medals, Louis XIII young, Marguerite d'Etampes, clearly legible, and plaques depicting muses are classic of this artist founder.
