Important Regency style armchair in gilded wood made during the Napoleon III period.
Imposing in the manner of a gilded wooden throne, it is entirely carved with large acanthus leaves on the armrests and its console legs finely resculpted with piastres and linked together by a crosspiece in consoles and scrolls meeting in the center on an urn.
The whole is in excellent condition and very solid.
It has been relined in the old style and covered with crimson silk velvet, with a superb burgundy and green braid decorated with passementerie pompoms with large tapestry nails one out of two as we sometimes found at the time.
The top of the back ends with two bronze bobeches.
Very good general condition, some marks of gilding accentuating the old charm of this very beautiful Seat.
It is very comfortable.
